1. Foluke Daramola
The Nollywood actress shared a sad story, and her opinion on intimacy before marriage, in her interview with The Punch:
“My first introduction to s*x was r*pe. It was with one of our tenants. I got so close to him and saw him as an elder brother. He looked at me as someone that had been exposed because I was busty and he thought I had had a s*xual experience before. So he had his way with me. Then it was not something you tell the whole world. People said we should keep quiet about it. Then they tried to make trouble with him but subsequently people said we should keep quiet about it. We had to try and manage it in our own way even though it affected me for a long time psychologically. I had to gradually get over it. I believed so much in the principle of keeping your virginity till you are married. I started showbiz from Teen TV on DBN with Chichi Okaro. Then I used to be so vocal and when we spoke about pre-marital s*x and virginity, I was always so passionate about it. It was such a disadvantage and a pity for me.”
2. Oluwaseyi Edun
The shining actress shared her point of view on lovemaking before marriage with Vanguard. She said:
“I think it’s an individual thing. Once you are an adult and you think you are ready, go for it. Personally, I think s*x before marriage is good. Because it will make you know your partner well before going into marriage. So if there is anything you are not comfortable with, you have an ample time to correct it before actually going into the lifetime contract of marriage. Doing it before marriage also reduces adultery and fornication. It is also a good way of studying your partner before you get committed to him or her.”
3. Biodun Okeowo
Prominent Yoruba actress has a negative opinion about premarital intimacy. She thinks it has a bad impact on our youth. She said in her interview with Vanguard:
“It is saddening that pre-marital s*x has taken over our time. In the past, most of our men would disassociate themselves with girls who have been deflowered outside wedlock. Then a woman’s virginity was her pride but time has changed and human beings have changed. I am not happy about it. Maybe we should blame civilisation or modernisation for this. I pray for God’s intervention in this era.”
She also mentioned that she got married when was still was a virgin and doesn’t regret it.
4. Ronke Oshodi Oke
This Nigerian celebrity has the opposite opinion she shared in her interview:
“s*x is a normal part of life just like money. I know I am a Yoruba ambassador but personally I believe anybody above 18 and has a serious relationship can have s*x even outside marriage. The couple should know what they have underneath their clothes before they get committed to each other for life. What if I do not like the size as a lady? Frankly, it is one of the reasons why many go into extra marital affairs. Even when a man has everything in the world and does not satisfy me sexually, there is serious trouble. I cannot go into a marriage and start regretting, besides, you won’t be able to tell your family members what you are going through in the name of marriage. I cannot manage s*x, it is either I enjoy it or disapprove it.”
5. Crystal Okoye
This gorgeous Nollywood actress has rather provocative thoughts about intercourse before marriage. She mentioned it in her interview with Vanguard:
“s*x is a free gift from God, meant for us, man and woman to enjoy ourselves. I don’t believe in that ‘after marriage’ crap. I believe in s*x before marriage because it is very important you know your partner very well, sexually and otherwise, before you two are sworn together for life. If you don’t know the person very well (sexually) before marriage, what happens if the person doesn’t live up to your expectations? What if the person cannot perform? I don’t think there’s a woman who wants to end up with a man who cannot perform.”
