“The Decision was made for me, Music chose me.” - Michael “Jah Mikes” Larmond

First introduced to music industry as Jah Mikes around the 18 years of age this Mandeville born  and raised artist has made a evolution journey into a phenomenal entertainer or as he call himself  a “musician”. Jah Mikes is a reserved and shy person but take on a vibrate and passionate spirit  when speaking of his music.  Prior to his 2015 Atlanta debut, he appeared on “Magnum King and Queens”, a local competition in Jamaica, which took him to the top 10 but did not take him no further than the stage of the competition. He took the advice of one of the judges and stayed focus on his musical journey.

In 2015 Jah Mikes joined Island Jams Entertainment and now goes by the name Michael “Jah Mikes” Larmond. The  Island Jams team also includes Raine Seville, Mr Peppa, Ssense, Blakkman and Voicemail. When asked the question “why”, Island Jams Entertainment he says, “that it seems like it was meant to be.” Larmond was introduced to Island Jams, a connection was made and now his  journey continues. Larmond credits the connection to “Worm” a mutual friend.

As part of Island Jams you can find Larmond gracing various stages throughout Jamaica, Cayman Islands and U.S. making him a household name. He has released a variety of singles that will have you turning up the radio, singing or whining along with music.  “Bartender” the initial single from the new management talks about being in love with a bartender. Many can relate to the topic at hand. The label also dropped a spring riddim “Bruk it Off” which includes a single “Whine Dirty”. With society’s police brutality incidents and continuous media backlash, Larmond released his latest single “Bully Cop”.

The artist is constantly putting pen to paper as he writes his own lyrics. “I see a bright future for Michael Jah Mikes Larmond.” said Toya “famouz”. “I like that he’s a singer and dj” said a local Atlanta promoter. “He can appeal to various audience.” He is showing the world his versatility from reggae to dancehall and proving he did not make the decision; the music choose him.
