There have been rumours circulating concerning Chidinma, who won MTN Project Fame in 2010, most especially after her recent video with Flavour.
In this interview, Chidinma addresses rumours about her, her love life, relationships with her colleagues in the music industry and lots more.
She also denied allegations that she was dating the Soundcity presenter, Adams Ibrahim.
We learnt you and Adams had a relationship, and you are also having crush on some of your counterparts, how true is that?
The truth is, most people assume. The public has given me so many boyfriends, and funny enough, I haven’t met some or had a conversation with them. Talking about Adams, he is my friend, we have been friends for a long time and it is normal for people to attach something to it most especially if it’s a relationship with the opposite sex. I have other friends too, like Dammy krane, flavor himself, to mention but few. However, I have understood that things like this are part of the business and I just have to manage it.

eople now have a different opinion about you compared to when you participated in project fame, what do you think about that?
Well, it is more than four years down the line and I don’t expect people to think I will remain the same. I am growing. I have heard a lot of comment about me being a good girl and now gone bad but really that’s not the case, I am just like every other person. For example, “E mi baller” video made people perceive me wrongly and of course, I had to pass the message the best way I can so I don’t dilute the essence of the message and I taught that was the best way I could do it. I have seen new things, gone to different places, met with people, and all this put together has changed a lot of things, so they shouldn’t expect that young Chidinma they knew some years ago. I won in 2010, calculating that to today is really a long time coming for me.
Are you engaged?
No, I am not, not even in a relationship (laughs).
Do you think there is any part of your body you will like to change if given the opportunity?
No, I appreciate every bit of me. I am happy with the way I am so I don’t think there is need for any surgery or cosmetic surgery.
You are still very active and consistent in church, how do you combine church activities with your Career?
I have always been an active and committed member of the church choir. Many people that know me may wonder how I manage. I smile and tell them it is about organization and what you are passionate about. The truth is I can’t stop myself from being a member of the choir. All I do is to program myself to fit into the church activities and anytime I also have to perform or rehearse, I excuse myself from church. How else will one give back to God if not by worshiping Him? Apart from loving the fact that I still sing, I feel I owe that as a responsibility to thank God in my own little way. However, I am thankful to God for giving me an understanding and lovable pastor. He doesn’t condemn me, instead he encourages me. He tells you to do what you think is right. As a matter of fact, I am close to him, I make sure I tell him my movement, he prays for me, he prays with me and all.

Really, I can’t start talking about all of that now but the truth is we are doing everything possible to work something out. I don’t want to sound like I’m impressing anyone, but am playing my part. I give piece of advice when I have to, and have tried working with some of them. For example, I did a song with Monica.
Are you a lover of designer or label name? If yes, which?
Yes, but it depends on how much I love the stuff. Sometimes, it is not about the designer but what will fit but then, I’m not a freak of for designs.
